Have you heard of Lymphoma?

Lymphoma is a type of cancer which affects the cells of the lymphatic system known as white blood cells. It typically occurs when lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell found in the lymph nodes, grow and multiply uncontrollably, causing swelling of the lymph nodes.

There are many different types of lymphoma however, the two most common types are Hodgkin Lymphoma and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

What happens when you have lymphoma?

Lymphoma happens when these white blood cells start behaving differently. Instead of fighting infections and dying off naturally when they get old, they begin to multiply too quickly and build up inside your lymph nodes or other parts of your body.

This causes the glands to swell, creating a lump or bump that you might feel under your skin.

Did You Know?

Lymph nodes are everywhere in the body and as such Lymphoma can start almost anywhere, but it is most commonly noticed first in the neck, armpit, or groin.
