Our Origin

Lymphoma UK began in 2008 and was set up in memory of Karen Jane Ingram, a mother of two from Portsmouth who sadly passed away from Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in July of that year aged just 40.

It was founded by Karen’s son, Tom, who at the age of just 13, held his first fundraiser at the Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway — a place where he had previously enjoyed days out with his family— raising over £3,500 for the Queen Alexandra Hospital which cared and looked after Karen whilst she was ill.

Over the next twelve years, Tom continued fundraising, raising thousands of pounds for local good causes before formally establishing Lymphoma UK as a registered charity in 2020.

What We Do

Lymphoma UK provides grants to leading medical researchers undertaking clinical cancer trials. These trials are essential for discovering which treatments are most effective, accelerating scientific progress and ultimately improving outcomes for patients diagnosed with lymphoma.

We are also pleased to provide additional support to those that have been affected by the disease through days out and other support initiatives.
